- Applicants must be employed by or connected to an African Higher Education Institution and residing on the African continent.
- Applicants must not be full-time faculty members or provide a declaration stating they will be released from their home institution post.
- PhD candidates must be reviewed and approved between September 1, 2018 and April 1, 2024.
- Applicants must have a portfolio of studies and writings suitable for post-doctoral experience level.
- Proposals must be compelling and feasible within the African Studies domain.
- Support for African Studies instruction at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Understanding protected qualities outlined in the Equality Act 2010 and proactive steps to ensure fair treatment.
